Adieu, the round and peaceful pace of his elders. Born at the end of 2016, the Citroën C3 Generation III breaks with the past: lowered roof of 5 cm (1.47 m), stretched line, span (4.00 m long). More "airbumps" on the flanks and roof dissociated shade, to be sure not to go unnoticed. The Toyota Yaris is also not introverted, with its muzzle pierced with a gigantic black grille and color scheme between body, uprights and roof. It has also superbly gone through the years, to the point of not mentioning its replacement: still neck and neck in 2018, after seven years of existence, with the brand new Volkswagen Polo for the title of first multi-purpose city of foreign brand in France. But foreign, is the Yaris really, since produced in Valenciennes (59) while the C3 comes from Slovakia?
The Yaris, alone in his world
The strength of the Yaris is its differential advantage: it is the only one of its kind to offer a hybrid solution, which weighed last year for 67% of its sales. Toyota had therefore seen clear and far, by launching the Prius hybrid in 1996. Imagine the score that would make today in France, with the decline of diesel in the low segments of the market, a Renault Clio, Peugeot 208, Citroen C3 or Volkswagen Polo hybrids petrol! Especially with a penalty each year more severe, which now strikes up the versatile city car with gasoline engine. The C3 has kept a 100 hp HDi offer on its bow, but for the figuration: 19% of sales in 2018. With almost equal power, it draws a small 3-cylinder 1.2 turbo gasoline facing the 4-cylinder 1.5 atmo gasoline the Yaris 100h with variator transmission. And for the fight to be equal, the assortment of a 6-speed automatic transmission ... of Japanese origin (Aisin).

The Yaris raises its roof higher (1.51 m) than the C3 (1.47 m), and decorates it with a shark fin antenna. But its rear lights are less elegant, less modern, than those of the C3.
