The Nissan Micra still only offers three petrol cylinders, but the range is expanding. If the 1.0 of 71 ch remains in the catalog, the 0.9 IG-T 90 hp now leaves room for a new 1.0 IG-T, available in 100 or 117 hp. The new 100-hp mid-range version will account for more than half of petrol Micra sales, especially since it offers an optional CVT automatic transmission (€ 1,200), previously unavailable. A motor all the more expected that it will land in a few months under the hood of the future star of the French market: the Renault Clio 5.
HR10DET: here is the internal name of this brand new IG-T100 1.0. Technically very different from its counterpart of 117 hp, it has nothing to do either with the atmospheric version of 71 hp. This turbocharged three-cylinder with an aluminum block makes the particle filter and the direct injection. This does not prevent it from offering some refinements: intake camshaft dephaser, cylinder head with integrated exhaust manifold, coating specific cylinders to reduce friction and so on. Promising on paper ... And in real life?
For € 300 more than its 90-hp predecessor, the IT-G 100 comes in four finishes: Visia Pack (€ 16,190), Acenta (€ 17,590), N-Connecta (€ 19,290) and Tekna (€ 20,290). If the entry-level remains first a call price with the minimum union, the Acenta, offers a more rewarding interior presentation, a 7-inch touchscreen interface with smartphone connection, a multifunction steering wheel and a controller. speed. The third N-Connecta trim level will be appreciated as it offers more technology (rear view camera and new GPS interface) and comfort (automatic climate control and keyless access and start).
Driving the Nissan Micra 1.0 IG-T
Like many current three-cylinder engines, the new Micra's engine is virtually inaudible at idle. It is to wonder if we started! Well supported by a balanced flywheel accordingly, the absence of any vibration in the seats, steering wheel or pedal make it a very discreet companion.

This ability to be forgotten is appreciated as much in the city as the softness of the controls and the soft suspensions that erase small bumps with talent. The imperceptible turbo effect of this new engine fluidifies city journeys despite a lack of response under 2000 rpm which forces to pack the mechanics during a hill start, and a few jolts present at very low regime.

The incredible silence of the mechanics is appreciated on the highway journeys. On the other hand, the fifth gear ratio and gearbox extension compared to the previous 0.9 IG-T of 90 hp forced downshifts to double or keep pace in long ramps. The power of 100 hp still offers real versatility to the Micra and consumptions found around 6 l / 100 km with a flexible ride on a mixed route promise promising for such a gasoline engine.
